As the paramedics put Horace's body on a stretcher, she tries to prevent them from leaving to no avail despite getting one of its four wheels. Her right window eye formed a crack that went through DJ's neck, symbolizing her malicious intent to kill him and Chowder. The battle between Chowder and Constance causes them both to fall down into the bed of the empty lake; the house falls apart in the process. This causes Constance’s anger to really shoot through the roof; she turns the trees flanking the house into hands/arms and feet/legs, pulls the house out of the earth and chases after DJ, Nebbercracker, Jenny, and Chowder. During the chase, Nebbercracker is forced to stop and rest, while Constance continues going after the kids. This further arouses DJ’s suspicions about the house, and he calls Chowder to help him investigate.
Friends / Allies
When Constance sees this, she uses his long-lost kite (which was stashed away in the basement) to lure Bones into the house. Unaware that this is a trap, Bones approaches the kite, only to have it coil around him as the house quickly devours him. Then one day, the circus was visited by a young man named Horace Nebbercracker, who fell in love with Constance at first sight and saw how awful she was being mistreated. In that same show, Constance finally had enough and attempted to retaliate at her attackers, but was stopped due to her immense size immobilizing her.
Attack in the Morning
One Halloween, while she was working on the house, some children tormented Constance because of her size. She lost her footing and fell to her death in the house's foundations, her body becoming buried beneath layers of cement. Nebbercracker finished the house, believing that it was what Constance would have wanted, before discovering that Constance's angry ghost had made the house come to life. To keep children away from the dangerous house, Nebbercracker pretended to be a child-hating old man. It all centers around an imaginative twelve year old named Dustin “DJ” Walters who feared his kooky old neighbor, Mr. Nebbercracker, who confiscated balls and items he finds on his lawn.

Constance Nebbercracker "The Monster House"
The tragedy occurred in at Halloween, the last day where children laughed at Constance, and she said she was going to "rip them to bits". Mr. Nebbercracker, whom see her complain over the children's bullying, told her, "As long as I'm here, I will never let anybody hurt you." However, just as he said so, the children continued their throwing, which now in a more aggressive manner. The enraged Constance then uses the axe that Nebbercracker was holding to hurt the children, but ended up knocked away in attempt to take the axe back. This made her lose her footing, and to regain her unruly balance, she pulled accidentally the switch on the cement mixer, falling in with a lump of liquid concrete, and was killed.

Meanwhile, Bones, the boyfriend of DJ’s babysitter Zee, teases Nebbercracker’s house out of anger over having his kite taken away from him when he was a kid. Constance is constantly picked on by people, especially kids, because of her obesity. In the aftermath, the quartet gather at the house's still-intact basement, returning everything Nebbercracker stole to their rightful owners. During the credits after everyone leaves, the house's victims emerge from the basement unharmed, including Bones, who discovers that Zee is now dating Skull. Monster House was released theatrically by Sony Pictures Releasing on July 21, 2006.
The house still remains until morning, though DJ and Chowder continue to watch it from DJ's room for hours, even with Zee's interference and resorting to urinate into bottles so they will not miss any of the possessed house's paranormal activities. In the morning, DJ and Chowder spot an alluring red-haired girl, Jenny Bennett going around door to door selling Halloween candy. Seeing her heading towards the house, they run out to warn her; she merely thinks they’re crazy, but when she turns around, she sees the house coming alive.
Which DJ agrees; wait and do nothing until the house finds out where they are and it will eat them, Chowder disagrees with that idea and goes on with the plan to find the heart and put the fire out. DJ finds binoculars on the wall near a small hatch to the door and he realizes that Nebbercracker has been watching him the whole time while he was trying to get Chowder's ball back. Jenny then shows DJ a set of photos with Nebbercracker and his late wife, then DJ says to Jenny that he used to have a wife, but he fattened her up and ate her, much to Jenny's disgust.
Other appearances
She grabs the ax from Horace's hands and attempts to attack the kids with it as they continue to throw eggs at her, while Horace attempts to stop her. During the scuffle, Horace falls to the ground but is okay while Constance loses her footing and stumbles towards a hole into the house's basement. She tries to save herself by grabbing the lever of the cement mixer, but her hand slips and falls into the pit of what would become the basement.
John Carpenter – Lost Themes IV: Noir (Album Review)
On the day before Halloween, 12-year-old Dustin James "D.J." Walters documents his elderly neighbor, Horace Nebbercracker, stealing a little girl's tricycle and scaring her away from his house, one of many similar incidents that have occurred. That same day, D.J.'s parents leave for a convention, placing him in the care of his teenage babysitter Elizabeth, or Zee. Later, D.J.'s friend, Charles "Chowder" Peterson, loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn; D.J. He appears to suffer a heart attack and is presumed dead by the duo as he is taken away in an ambulance. That night, she possesses the telephone in her house (off-screen) and calls DJ on the phone. Thinking that it may be a trick, he tries to call the house itself, only for no one to answer him.

This made him take precautions on that one night of every year, Halloween; he was aware that Constance's spirit caused the house to come alive, and there was the risk of the house attacking innocent children trick-or-treating and even adults. He knows that the pain and suffering that his wife had in her lifetime has made her into a tricky but savage, bloodthirsty, and murderous monstrosity of her former self. Only a little later, their house began construction, and that's when the trouble began as their happiness proved short-lived. Children always mocked Constance for her body like her days back in circus whenever they met, and often threw eggs, tomatoes, and rocks at her. This ultimately led to the tragedy, that both change Nebbercracker's life and set the whole events of the movie.
Stepping onto the porch, Chowder does an imitation of Nebbercracker and rings the doorbell, causing the house to awaken. The door suddenly opens, revealing its interior, which shifts into a mouth-like cavern. Even the house's exterior takes on a demonic form while retaining its former appearance. The horrified Chowder is then chased by the house's rug that acts like a chameleon's tongue, and barely escapes, knocking himself and DJ onto the sidewalk. Not long afterwards, he sense his wife's presence and learned that both her death, and love for Nebbercracker led her to possess the house.
DJ has considered abandoning the case after being fed up with the argument, only to be unexpectedly hit by an ambulance by accident which turned out to be hijacked by the still-living Nebbercracker. DJ was happy that he didn't cause the old man to be killed, but only crippled him instead. Nebbercracker then lashed out to the trio to leave, but his wrath quickly changes into worry as he realised that it was Halloween and kids would be approaching his house. He then approaches his house which becomes possessed again but somewhat became gentle to him. Nebbercracker was at first furious after he had discovered the truth, but eventually relents and tells them both his and Constance's story. When the house falls asleep, the children fall into the basement and discover the body of a very large woman covered in cement.
