Later on, when DJ and Chowder sought to investigate the house, Chowder, who doesn't believe strange things that occurred inside the house, starts to fool around on the house's lawn. They discovered Bones' empty bottle but dismissed it and toss it aside, unaware that the possessed grass on the lawn pulled it underground. Everything seems normal until Chowder pressed the bell, and the house awakened. The door (the mouth) suddenly opens, revealing its interior's fractures, and shifts into a mouth-like cavern. The horrified Chowder is then chased by the house's rug (the tongue) that acts like a chameleon's tongue, and barely escapes. Chowder looks behind, where the house became more deformed than it previously was before returning to normal.

Final Rampage and Death
He immediately fell in love with her, and felt bad for her when he saw that kids were picking on her due to her obesity. He married her shortly afterwards, and began building a house for the two of them. With the house destroyed, Constance’s spirit is released and able to go on to Heaven. Nebbercracker is heartbroken over the loss of his house and his wife, but is grateful to DJ, Chowder, and Jenny for freeing them from all these years of imprisonment. Nebbercracker stands up to Constance and realizes how much trouble she has caused recently, making her feel remorse for her actions. Nebbercracker then resolves to put Constance out of her misery by blowing her up with a dynamite.
Tropes that apply to Constance
As he carries the tricycle back to his house, he notices DJ spying on him from his bedroom window. When DJ attempts to retrieve his best friend Chowder's basketball from his lawn, he is caught by Nebbercracker, and after accidentally damaging his lawn, Nebbercracker furiously grabs DJ, and lifts him off the ground and yells at him. DJ's weight causes Nebbercracker's bones to crack, and at the same time, he suffers a heart attack, causing him to faint on top of DJ. The house then finds out they are inside, and attacks them, but they escape by attacking its uvula. The trio then realizes that it was Constance's spirit that was controlling the house the whole time. DJ lives across the street from Mr. Nebbercracker, a grumpy old man who takes and keeps anything that lands on his lawn.

After her death and her spirit takes control of the house he built for her, he pretends to have her attitude towards kids just so they won't harass her, leading to her attacking and/or killing them. Despite her death, he still cares for her, and is heartbroken when she goes on to the afterlife in the end. Observing a group of children in Halloween costumes nearby, he realizes he doesn't have much time, and approaches his house.
Jenny
Around her dead body, they found some decayed roses, heart-shaped boxes of chocolates and photos that people would normally place on the grave of their loved ones. However, the police officers were not the sole target, as it had the trees to grab the police car and devouring it into its mouth inside along with the kids like eating a hamburger. The kids attempt to escape, but are trapped inside the house as they witness the house's interior revert back to normal.

And Chowder later investigate and learn that the house is possessed by a poltergeist. On Halloween, they save Jennifer "Jenny" Bennett, who is selling candy, from the house. Jenny calls police officers Landers and Lister, but the house stays quiet when the officers arrive and they dismiss the report.
Even if she did survive the impact from a high place, the mixer ends up pouring a pile of cement atop her entire body, burying her and suffocating her to death. They then explore the house, discovering Constance on her honeymoon with Nebbercracker, as well as Nebbercracker’s army days when he was part of a demolition team. Plummeting into the basement, they find a huge collection of toys that Nebbercracker confiscated from children, and Constance’s tomb. The house becomes aware of their presence, and tries to eat them, but they attack the uvula, causing the house to spit them out. When Zee's boyfriend Bones later pays a visit, he recalls the time Nebbercracker stole his kite, as well as relating rumors of him cannibalizing his wife. After Zee kicks him out, Bones notices his kite in the front door of Nebbercracker's house, tries to retrieve it and is abducted.
The Best Modern Horror Films You Might Have Missed
As the house fights with Chowder, who is controlling the vehicle, DJ is given the dynamite and is told to destroy the house for good. She was a human performing as a "circus freak" in a circus until Horace Nebbercracker saved her and married her. During the construction of their house, her sudden untimely death occurred due to falling into the basement and getting covered in wet concrete, after which she took possession of the house instead of going to heaven, which developed monster-like characteristics. That night, costumed trick-or-treaters line up at the former site of Nebbercracker's house.
Nebbercracker is seen only in photos in the GameCube and PlayStation 2 versions of the video game adaptation of the film, and appears briefly in the GameBoy Advance version. However, two people, DJ Walters, his neighbor from across the street, and Zee's boyfriend Bones, are aware of what he is hiding, though DJ knows more, due to spying on Nebbercracker for years. It was produced by Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, written by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab, and directed by Gil Kenan. When Horace is taken to the hospital, Constance immediately awakens from her years of slumber. Her fireplace starts burning on its own accord, and she emits sad, groaning voices as the ambulance arrives to carry her husband away.
One day, when Chowder's basketball accidentally flew into Nebbercracker's lawn and prompts DJ to bring it back, Nebbercracker ambushes and storms toward him. DJ tries to calm him down, but this does not change Nebbercracker's mind to scare him further. Nebbercracker proceeds by lifting him upwards and unleashing several tantrums on his face. This is however a great mistake; due to his elderly age, he forgot that his body could no longer endure the boy's weight and he had a heart attack at the same time. His bones cracked in the process, causing him to fall unconscious on DJ's body. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny get accidentally thrown into the huge pit where a lake has been drained.
Nebbercracker, DJ, Chowder, and Jenny give back all the toys that Nebbercracker had taken from them over the years. As the movie ends, all the people who had been eaten by the house come out of its basement. The house breaks free from its foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site.
The film was also the first time Zemeckis and Spielberg had worked together since 1990’s Back to the Future Part III. Unfortunately, Screenplay Writer Harmon was not completely satisfied with the final edit of Monster House, because he felt Kenan and Spielberg made it scarier than initially intended. Too scary, too funny, or just right, that depends on the viewer, and perhaps their age. Nonetheless, a decade later, Monster House is still a spooky adventure worth watching again. As they were waiting, the trio imagines what would happened if many children come to that house due to tonight is Halloween.
